BRAND STORY

In architecture, a capstone is the final stone placed at the top of a structure, the piece that completes everything and holds the work together.

In school, we borrow that idea for a capstone project: a final demonstration of everything we’ve learned, with effort, guidance, and support from the people around us.

Cap & Stone Clothing Co. is my capstone.

I’m a Grade 11 student building something real from the ground up. Not just a brand, but a project with purpose. Just like a capstone in architecture or school, this company represents everything I’ve been learning about creativity, responsibility, and community.

When I started this project, my mom told me that contributing to your community was not optional. She said, “Look around you. Find something that actually matters.”

At the time, Alberta teachers were on strike, and then they were forced back to work when the provincial government used the notwithstanding clause. She asked me why this matters to the company. And I said, “Without teachers, this project wouldn’t even exist”

Teachers are the sole reason students rise. Without them the building is still there but nothing grows. They are the support at the base and the finishing touch at the top.

They hold the system together and shape futures quietly, even when the resources don’t match the responsibility.

That is why 40% of all profits from Cap & Stone Co. go back to the teachers across Canada.

This brand is my foundation and my way of saying thank you to the people without whom this capstone-turned-business would not exist.
